I offer a range of services centred around my lived experience and insights as a person with disability. I particularly love collaborating on projects that will materially impact the lives of people with disability in a profoundly positive way. Over the last decade, I have developed longstanding relationships with universities and schools, speech and occupational therapists, SDA housing organisations, and other disability organisations.
When collaborating with me your audience will get a raw and honest insight of how, myself, as a person with disability, relates to the issue at hand.
My expertise covers the following topics, though not exclusively:
Assistive technology
Communication
Sex and dating in an ableist society
Taking ownership over one’s life
Overcoming adversity
Housing
Support workers
My presentation package includes an initial meeting, which includes discussing the client brief, deliverables and formulating a structure for the presentation. Using information gathered in the initial meeting I build out a presentation with a speech voiceover file that substitutes my voice. Although my tablet is doing the speaking for me, please rest assured they are all my own words. I will typically send a WIP update to the client to ensure the brief is being met. However, the real magic happens when I deliver the talk in person.
In addition to my personal blog, I collaborate with businesses and organisations to write articles on specific topics, provide product or service reviews, share social commentary or talk about my lived experience. In the past, I have assisted organisations to write policies and procedures pertaining to how staff can support people with disability. Finally, I am pleased to announce I have just finished co-creating an online course which will be released in November 2024.
I partner with brands eager to listen to and amplify marginalised voices, ensuring solutions are created that truly resonate and meet the target audience’s needs and beyond.
Don't just take my word for it, hear what others have to say about my work.
“It has been excellent working with Jono on various state and federal government initiatives and combining our disability advocacy, allied health and government policy expertise over the last few years. ”
Martin Checketts - Company Director, Thistles Resevoir
“I would highly recommend Jono as a keynote speaker. We engaged him to speak at our SDA forum, and he kept the crowd engaged and informed throughout. Jono sees the world differently, and his sense of humour and dogmatic fighting spirit are a true inspiration. ”
